Dear Massapequa Community Partner,

As a valued member of the Massapequa school community, Dr. Brennan, Superintendent of Schools, and Mr. Ruf, Assistant Superintendent of Schools, would like to personally invite you to attend an upcoming Massapequa Community Budget Presentation on:

Tuesday, May 12
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Massapequa High School Auditorium

This presentation will provide an important opportunity to review and discuss the proposed school district budget, including how it was developed and the thoughtful process behind it. We will also highlight key components of this year’s plan, including the proposed capital reserve and anticipated projects such as security enhancements, upgrades to our athletic complex, and continued academic improvements across the district. Each of these investments is rooted in our mission and vision and reflects our shared commitment to “Creating Leaders…One Child at a Time.”

In addition to outlining this year’s priorities, the presentation will emphasize our long-term planning efforts and the collaborative process that guides our work. Our Board of Education, Budget and Finance Committee, along with our administrative team, remains committed to maintaining transparency and open communication throughout every stage of budget development. This meeting represents another meaningful step in that ongoing commitment.

Over the next few weeks, we will present the proposed budget at more than 20 sessions across the school community to ensure that all stakeholders have the opportunity to be informed and engaged. I encourage you not only to attend, but also to share this invitation with members of your organization, colleagues, and family members who may not yet have had the chance to participate.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of the Massapequa School District. We hope you will join us for this important presentation.

Sincerely,
The Massapequa School District

To Our Massapequa Family:

The Massapequa School District is proud to continue its partnership with
the Connor Kasin Memorial Foundation and Mount Sinai South Nassau to
offer no-cost EKG screenings for all students in grades 7–12.

In February, 37 members of the Massapequa High School ice hockey
team—fittingly, Connor’s number—participated in a no-cost EKG screening.
The event was a tremendous success, and we are excited to expand this
potentially life-saving opportunity to all students in grades 7–12 across our
district.

Event Details:
Date: Saturday, May 16, 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Location: Massapequa High School

Appointments are required. Parents and guardians interested in scheduling
a screening should sign up in advance to reserve a preferred time slot. A
parent or guardian must accompany each student.

An EKG for a student is a valuable screening condition to detect underlying
heart conditions that could cause sudden cardiac arrest. We encourage all
students in Grades 7-12 to take advantage of this free opportunity.

To our Massapequa Family,

We had some fun earlier today recording this short video (located at https://www.youtube.com/@MassapequaPS) - we are so excited to share that we’re just 16 days away from the Special Olympics here in Massapequa!

Join us on May 2nd at Berner Middle School. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. with our opening ceremonies and Parade of Athletes - one of the most inspiring moments of the day.

Be sure to arrive early, fill the stands, and bring the energy as we cheer on not only our incredible Massapequa student-athletes, but over 500 athletes competing in this amazing event.

We can’t wait to see you there - let’s make it unforgettable.
