The Student Advisory Council has been a committee of the Massapequa School District Board of Education since 1971. Facilitated by the District Curriculum Office in collaboration with the Principals of Massapequa High School Main and Ames Campus, the committee consists of students who are actively involved in leadership roles as class officers or through the General Student Organization.

The Student Advisory Council meets throughout the year, generally prior to the start of the school day. Over the past two years, the committee of grade 9-12 student council members have constructed and presented messages to the 6th grade students at Berner Middle School and the 5th grade students across the Massapequa School District elementary schools. The topics presented were: Navigating Middle School, Time Management, Peer Pressure, Antibullying, Dangers of Social Media.
