Approximately 110 student-musicians from Massapequa will take part in this month’s All-County Music Festival, hosted by the Nassau Music Educators Association. Rehearsals and concerts are held from Jan. 7 to 18.
Students from the band, chorus and orchestra from grades 5-12 were selected for honors ensembles, and will be joined by other extraordinary young musicians from across the county. Selections are based on NYSSMA solo performance scores and teacher recommendations.
Ensemble rehearsals for each division take place at schools throughout Nassau County, and culminating performances are held at the LIU Post Tilles Center.
