Superintendent's Office

August 25, 2025

To our Massapequa Family,

I hope you had a joyful and relaxing summer! As we prepare to welcome back our students for the 2025–26 school year, I am excited to share the incredible highlights from this past season and, most importantly, to unveil our theme for the year ahead:

🌟 A Paradigm of Potential: The Power of Connection and Community 🌟

This summer was filled with learning, creativity and joy. Thousands of students took part in enriching programs — from Extended School Year and Summer Recreation to the Teen Center, Summer Fine Arts, Sports Skills, Robotics and Camp Invention. Our schools were alive with energy, innovation and laughter, and I know that same spirit will carry into the new year.

Behind the scenes, our dedicated custodial, maintenance and administrative teams have worked tirelessly to prepare our nine school buildings. Their commitment ensures that when our students walk through the doors next week, they will be greeted by spaces that are ready for them to learn, grow and thrive.

Our theme this year, A Paradigm of Potential, celebrates the belief that every student holds unique strengths and possibilities. By fostering connection and community, we unlock that potential together — as educators, families and neighbors united in support of our children.

This belief in our students is also widespread and throughout our summer programs, and I am thrilled to share the summer editions of our Massapequa Minute and Massapequa Moment:

At this point, you should also have received your printed 2025-26 school calendar with key dates, including Back-to-School Nights, workshops and PTA meetings. A digital version is available on our District Calendars webpage.

As we step into this new year together, let’s embrace the power of connection and community in helping every child discover and realize their full potential.

Wishing you an enjoyable weekend and an inspiring start to the 2025–26 school year!

With gratitude and excitement,

Dr. William Brennan
