The sun was shining, the music was blasting and the smiles were ear to ear for field day at East Lake Elementary School on June 6. This year’s theme was “Is It in You?”
Students in grades K-4 wore their brightly colored field day T-shirts, provided by the PTA, while the fifth graders donned their Class of 2025 attire. Students rotated through several stations. There were field day staples like the tug-of-war and an obstacle course, as well as numerous relay races in which students ran with stacks of pizza boxes and transferred water from one bucket to another using a sponge.
At the DJ station, students danced and did the limbo. There was also the dunking booth, where students took aim at a target to tip a bucket of water onto some brave parent volunteers. The yard games station featured cornhole, Connect 4 and Jenga. Every class also enjoyed a break for lunch and Italian ices.
