Dear Berner Families,
Berner Middle School will be conducting a Rapid Early Dismissal Drill at the end of the day on Tuesday, November 25. The dismissal from school for students will be approximately fifteen minutes earlier than the normal dismissal time (about 2:40 PM for our students). Additionally, there will be no after-school activities, which include extra help, clubs, intramurals, afterschool library, Room 120, etc. There will be no late buses.
***PLEASE NOTE: Berner Winter 1 Sports Teams WILL have practice. The practice times will be adjusted --> 3:00 pm to 4:45 pm.
Additionally, the Boys 7th & 8th Grade Basketball teams will have their regular scheduled game that day.

Sign in to the Parent Portal Web - https://msdps.powerschool.com/public (Report Cards not available through the Parent Portal App)
Click the Student Reports icon located in the navigation menu.
Under Archived Reports, select the report card.
If you need help accessing your Parent Portal account, please use the “Forgot Username or Forgot Password” link. If you continue to experience issues, email our PowerSchool support team at powerschool@msd.k12.ny.us. For questions about classes or grades, please contact your child’s teacher or guidance counselor.

Earlier today, a safety concern was reported to the Berner Middle School administration. In accordance with district protocols, we promptly contacted the Nassau County Police Department. They responded quickly, thoroughly addressed the issue, and confirmed there is no ongoing threat to our school community.
Together, along with our central office team, we remain committed to fostering a safe, welcoming, and positive learning environment for all students at Berner.

Dear Berner Families,
On Friday, November 7, and Monday, November 10, Nassau County Police Department officers will be visiting Berner to present an assembly for all students in Grades 6–8. The program will focus on social media awareness and bicycle safety, and will be held in the Berner Gymnasium during physical education classes.
As part of our ongoing commitment to student well-being, we encourage you to continue engaging in open and thoughtful conversations with your children about these two important topics. Social media is a powerful tool for connection and creativity, but it also comes with responsibilities. Additionally, bicycle safety remains a top priority. We ask that you review safety practices with your children, as these habits are essential for keeping everyone safe.
We deeply value your partnership in guiding our students toward making safe and responsible choices—both online and in our neighborhoods. We're also pleased to welcome officers from the Nassau County Police Department tomorrow and Monday, as they help raise awareness around these important issues.

Concerts on December 9th and 10th have multiple performing groups. Due to the size of our individual performing groups, we ask that families please limit guests to 4 attendees at each of the concerts. This will ensure compliance with safety standards, as we are not able to permit guests to stand in the aisles during performances.
