At Berner Middle School, the safety and well‑being of our students and staff is always our highest priority. Throughout the year, we take time to review and practice our emergency procedures so that everyone feels prepared and supported. These practice drills—such as fire, secure lockout, lockdown, shelter, relocation, and evacuation drills—are a routine part of keeping our school community safe.
On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, we will be conducting a lockdown drill, which helps us practice how to respond in the unlikely event of a threat inside the building. We will continue to hold a variety of safety drills over the remainder of the year to ensure that our students and staff feel confident and ready in any situation.
Thank you, as always, for your understanding and support.

Dear Berner Parents, Students, and Staff,
Chief Challenge is sponsoring Berner's 14th annual Souper Bowl drive. We are asking students and staff to bring in non-perishable food and cast their vote for who they would like to win the 2026 Super Bowl. Donation boxes for the Seattle Sea Hawks and the New England Patriots will be located in front of the auditorium beginning on January 29th.
We would also like to encourage students and staff to wear their favorite sports jersey or shirt on Friday, February 6th to support Berner's Souper Bowl drive.
Kindly click on the link: BMS Souper Bowl Drive 2026
Proceeds will go to Long Island Cares which has an unprecedented number of families in need and their banks are low.
Together, we can restock our local food banks.
Thank you!
