Dear 8th Grade Parents and Students, We are so excited to let you know that our 2025 Berner yearbooks will be here soon! Yearbooks can still be purchased online until May 30th. Dear Berner Middle School Eighth Grade Families, We would like to inform you that this year the Berner Middle School yearbooks will be distributed after school on Tuesday, June 17. After receiving their yearbooks, students will have the opportunity to have their classmates and available teachers sign them after school in the cafeteria from 2:55 PM - 3:40 PM. Late buses will be available for those students who pick up and attend the yearbook signing. All 8th grade students are welcome to attend this event, regardless if they purchased a yearbook or not. Yearbooks will be available for purchase at the event. Should students wish to purchase one, please bring a check for $80 made out to Massapequa Public Schools with your child’s name in the memo. As we approach this exciting time, we kindly remind students to maintain appropriateness in their messages when writing in their classmates' yearbooks. The Code of Conduct will be enforced to address any issues of concern. Please also note that students will not be permitted to roam the hallways during finals to collect signatures from other students and staff, as this can be disruptive to the learning environment, especially during this critical period of final exams. Dear Berner Families, We are writing to inform you of some disappointing news; due to the forecast of inclement weather, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Berner’s upcoming field trip to Adventureland on Thursday, May 22. The safety and well-being of our students and staff are always our top priority, and after closely monitoring the weather reports and consulting with all parties involved, we believe this is the most responsible course of action. Unfortunately, with the end of the year approaching and schedules as full as they are, we are unable to reschedule the date of the Adventureland field trip. Students who submitted payment for the trip will receive a full refund. Refunds will be processed over the next few weeks and will be issued via the original method of payment. As a result of the cancellation, Thursday, May 22 will now be a regular day of academic instruction for all students. We appreciate your understanding and continued support.
