Berner Middle School has emergency plans and procedures to protect our students and staff during emergencies, as everyone's safety remains our top priority. To that end, it is important for us to consistently review and practice our emergency procedures throughout the school year. This is done by engaging our students and staff in a series of drills, both announced and unannounced. Safety exercises, such as fire drills, lockout drills, lockdown drills, shelter drills, relocations, and evacuation drills are done periodically.
On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, we will perform a lockdown drill, which we implement to practice addressing a potential situation that involves a threat inside of the building. Over the remainder of the year, we will continue to run safety drills to ensure that we always remain vigilant and prepared.

Dear Berner Parents, Students and Staff:
Our Student Council will be hosting their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive and has an exciting Grade Level Challenge for the whole building! Students in the grade that has collected the most donated items of non-perishable food will win NO HOMEWORK for one entire night in EVERY class!
Beginning Monday, October 20th, students are invited to bring their donations to the auditorium lobby and place it in the designated area labeled for their grade. The items will be counted and tallied and the grade that has the most donations will be announced on Friday, November 7th.
Non-perishable food donations will be collected from Monday, October 20th through Thursday, November 6. Don't forget to check expiration dates as expired food cannot be accepted.

Berner's annual Thinks Pink fundraiser will take place this Thursday, October 16th! Student Council will continue selling t-shirts for $12.00 each. Additionally, we will sell some specialty items on Thursday: Jolly Rancher lollipops, vinyl stickers, and bracelet for $2.00 each. Please note that there are limited quantities and that sales will take place during all lunch periods. All proceeds will go the The Side Out Foundation and Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition.

We are excited to announce that our annual "Berner Boo'd'' fundraiser will take place on Friday, October 31st! Prior to the event, students will be selling candy "boos" for $1.00 each.
These "boos" will be on sale during all lunch periods on Monday, October 20th, through Thursday, October 23rd. They will be distributed to students during homeroom on Halloween.
