With the holiday season now in full swing, we are inviting all of our students to share one of their family's holiday cards with us so we can create a BMS family holiday card collage to decorate our main hallway. Cards can be dropped off in the card box located in the front of the Auditorium. We can't wait to see all of your holiday cards!

The Berner Builders Club is currently collecting toys for the John Theissen Children's Foundation Toy Drive until Monday, December 22.
Any new, unwrapped toys for children between the ages of one and 17 can be dropped off in the front lobby at Berner and placed in the Toy Drive collection box. All donations will help to brighten the holidays for sick and underprivileged kids on Long Island.

The application process for students to be considered for Introduction to Science Research is now officially open.
Introduction to Science Research is an elective course for 8th grade students. Current 7th grade students should be in Accelerated Science with a minimum of a 90 average in both math and science. Students who are motivated and interested in the program should be encouraged to apply. Current eighth grade students who are NOT in Introduction to Science Research but are interested in taking Science Research I at Massapequa High School - Ames Campus must also apply for consideration. In addition to completing the application, students need to have 2 teacher recommendations - one must be from a CURRENT science teacher. The link to the recommendation is embedded in the application. The link can be found below.

Applications will be considered incomplete without the 2 letters of recommendation.
All applications will be reviewed, and notifications will be emailed no later than the week of January 26th.

Dear Berner Parents/Guardians,
The Fall 2025 FitnessGram Physical Fitness Reports for all Berner students are now available through the PowerSchool Parent Portal on both the student and parent accounts.
If you do not know your username or password for the Parent Portal, please contact the Berner Guidance Office at (516) 308-5730.
How to View Your Child’s Report:
Log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
Click on the “Student Portfolio” icon on the lower left-hand side of the screen.
Select the dropdown arrow next to “FitnessGram” (upper left-hand side).
Click on the “2025-26” link to view the report.
This coming week, all students will review their individual FitnessGram reports with their P.E. teacher. We encourage you to take a few minutes to review the report with your child and discuss their fitness assessment results.
If you have any questions regarding the report, please contact your child’s physical education teacher.
