Good Afternoon Birch Lane Families,

Earlier this afternoon, we had a medical incident which required assistance from local emergency responders. In order to limit any unnecessary movement in our building, we initiated a “hold in place” while maintaining our instructional program. The hold in place was in effect for approximately fifteen minutes. We are proud to share that all of our students and staff performed their responsibilities beautifully during this time.

Best Regards,

Good Afternoon Kindergarten Families,

We are excited to inform you that the LI Herald will be showcasing our Kindergarten classes in a special K Kids Edition! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to be featured in the newspaper.

The LI Herald will take pictures of all our Kindergarten classes and their teachers on Monday, March 2nd. Each child will also answer the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Please note that the paper only uses first names and does not place names near the pictures of the children.

If your child is camera-shy or you prefer they not participate, please reach out to your child's teacher, and we will ensure they are not included in the photos.

Best Regards,

Stephen Aspetti and Joyce Larkin

Dear 5th Grade Families,

We are excited to be collecting baby photos for this years yearbook. These photos will be featured in our special “Look How They’ve Grown” section, a favorite tradition that beautifully highlights how much the students have changed over the years.

Please submit a clear photo of just your child, ideally taken between 6–12 months of age. Be sure only your child is in the picture, and it is focused mainly on their face as the pictures will be cropped to fit.

Deadline: Please submit your child’s baby photo by February 28th.

How to Upload Your Photo:

Visit: https://photos.jostens.com/Y7BMV2
Click “Browse” and select your child’s image. Enter your child’s full name as the description.
Check the terms and conditions box, then click “Upload Chosen Images.”
✅ Photo Tips:

JPG files only
Maximum file size: 50MB
If prompted for a user ID, please enter: 0b6CeAR8VYDSXo20F2gri_A (all zeros, not the letter “O”)
Please also include your contact information so we can reach you if any additional details are needed.

Thank you so much for helping us create a meaningful keepsake for the students!

Warm regards,

Yearbook Ad Sales – Open Again for the Next 7 Days

Dear 5th Grade Families,

Good news — yearbook ad sales are now live again for a limited time.

As of today, February 23, due to inquiries from parents that missed the deadline, ad sales have reopened and will remain available for the next 7 days. This is a great opportunity to purchase a congratulatory ad to celebrate your child’s 5th grade graduation and recognize their accomplishments, friendships, and memories from elementary school.

If you were hoping to place an ad or missed the earlier deadline, now is the time to do so before sales close again.

Please be sure to submit your ad within the 7-day window to ensure it is included in this year’s yearbook.

Thank you for helping make the yearbook so special for our students!

Warmly,

Lauren Carollo

Inside Out Concert for Grade 3

The Massapequa Fine & Performing Arts department would like to announce the 2026 Massapequa Philharmonic Inside Out Informance. The event is scheduled for Sunday, March 15, 2026, in the Berner Middle School Cafeteria at 1:00 pm. Third grade students will soon have the opportunity to select an instrument to begin playing next fall. The Inside Out Informance by the Massapequa Philharmonic is a wonderful way for your child to begin to explore possible instrument choices.

The Inside Out Informance is an opportunity for third grade students to sit inside the orchestra with the musicians and to experience what it is like to be in the ensemble. Following the Inside Out Informance, students can participate in the Instrument Meet and Greet; a time to speak with teachers and students, see the instruments up close, and ask questions.

The full schedule is:
12:45 pm: Students Arrive
1:00 pm: Inside Out Informance
1:30 pm: Instrument Meet & Greet
Seating is limited to 115 third grade students and a parent escort. To sign up your child for this exciting program, visit https://forms.gle/u6Tr2tLrofPGW58t9 to access the registration form.

We look forward to welcoming you to the music performance program here in Massapequa.

Musically yours,
