P.S. I Love You Day spreads light on the importance of being kind to ourselves and others. It emphasizes the importance of embracing differences, choosing kindness and lifting each other up.
This year, we will celebrate P.S. I Love You Day along with Valentine's Day on Friday, February 13th. We encourage you to wear purple, and/or any colors that represent love and kindness.
We would also like to remind you that candy/goodies should not be sent in for distribution. Students may certainly bring in Valentines cards/notes for their classmates if they would like.
Best Regards,
Stephen Aspetti and Joyce Larkin
We are writing to inform you that we will continue to practice our emergency drills over the next few days.

PARP is still going strong this week! Keep reading every day with your child and don’t forget to turn in your reading tickets to your child’s teacher each day! The PARP calendar outlines this week’s activities. We have attached the Dog Man PARP packet for you to this email.
Thanks for helping your child “Get Caught Reading a Great Book!”
Happy reading,
The PARP Committee
2. Reminder to continue the PARP Patrol morning announcements for the week. The kids really think you are driving around and have been so excited to show you that they have been reading! We hope you are getting this feedback as well!

Get ready to save the day! Students are invited to dress up as their favorite hero real or imaginary in celebration of this year’s theme of PARP!
Some hero examples are:
-Heros in Books
-Superheroes
-Community Heroes (firefighters, police officers, doctors, teachers)
Let’s celebrate PARP together by showing the importance of courage, kindness, and imagination!
Please remember everything we wear to school must be school appropriate and no masks.
Thank you!
PARP Committee
This year’s PARP (Pick a Reading Partner) theme is inspired by the Dog Man series, by Dav Pilkey, “Get Caught Reading a Great Book!” PARP will take place from January 12th - 23rd. Families are encouraged to read at least 20 minutes each day, whether
with a parent, sibling, grandparent, or any other reading partner of their choice. Reading challenges, classroom read alouds, Dog Man themed activities, special gifts from the PTA, and many other surprises will take place during these two weeks of PARP.
Your participation and involvement make a tremendous difference. Thank you in advance for supporting Birch Lane’s reading journey and making this year’s Dog Man themed PARP program, the best one yet! Attached is the PARP packet, which outlines PARP and the two weeks of activities. A black and white copy of this packet will also be sent home with your child on Monday, January 12th.
