Massapequa AP Students,
A critical Bluebook update was released on April 30, 2026. Unless blocked, Bluebook will auto-update the next time it’s opened. Students use Bluebook to take AP Exams. To avoid overwhelming your network and causing delays on upcoming test days:
students should open Bluebook on their Chromebook before test day or group readiness sessions to allow Bluebook auto-updates (you don’t need to sign in).
remember to check for new releases every Friday on Bluebook Releases. Students must always use the latest version of Bluebook.
Technical requirements and guidance are always available at bluebook.collegeboard.org/technology.
Please be aware that Massapequa High School-Main Campus has completed the practice Lockdown drill and the building has resumed normal school activities.
Thank you,

Dear Students and Families,
Please be aware that Massapequa High School will be conducting a lock down drill today during 4th period (10: 00 AM- 10:15AM). The drill is in coordination with district security, central administration and the local authorities. The drill will only occur during a portion of the period (approx.15 min).
In addition, we will be utilizing the district's Informacast system. With this new alerting system, there will be automated actions with our physical security system and notifications. The notifications will include: Interior/Exterior Blue Strobe Lights, PA System Voice Messages, Email Messages.
You will receive notification when the drill has concluded.
Thank you
MHS Admin.
Dear Grade 12 Parents/Guardians,
As the proud Superintendent of Massapequa Schools, I am continually inspired by our students and the strength of our community. Massapequa represents something greater - service, leadership, and a deep respect for those who came before us.
As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, we are excited to invite our Class of 2026 to take part in a meaningful new tradition: Flags for Freedom Ceremony, to be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 8:15 a.m.
This is more than a ceremony, it is an invitation for students to step forward as leaders. Alongside our veterans, seniors will take part in a powerful experience that honors sacrifice while embracing their responsibility as active participants in America’s future.
During the ceremony, veterans will bring the American flag to life re-enacting its 13 folds and sharing how each honors our nation’s history and the sacrifices of those who served. Through their stories, students will see that the flag is more than a symbol; it represents unity, sacrifice, and our shared responsibility to uphold its ideals.
We are asking every senior to take the next step and complete the Flags for Freedom interest form, either now or during their Social Studies classes. As part of this process, students will be asked to thoughtfully reflect on: What does it mean to receive a flag from a veteran as they prepare to graduate? What does it mean to be an engaged and responsible citizen, and the role they will play in their community and our democracy?
Parents, we ask that you take a few moments to speak with your child about this opportunity, your perspective will help them approach it with thoughtfulness.
At Massapequa, we prepare students not only for what comes next, but for the role they will play in shaping it. The Flags for Freedom Ceremony reflects who we are, coming together with purpose, honoring what matters, and inspiring our students to lead with intention. Thank you for your partnership in strengthening the values that define our community.
With gratitude,
William Brennan, Ed.D.

Good Afternoon-
Massapequa High School- Main Campus continues its' NYS required practice of emergency drills in coordination with district security, NCPD and local fire officials. This helps ensure law enforcement is familiar with our buildings and procedures in the event of a real emergency. This also allows us to build great relationships with our first responders.
You are receiving notification that a lockdown drill is scheduled to be conducted within the next 5 school days. Please know that we are taking many steps to keep our building safe. Drills are completely precautionary and are an opportunity to practice keeping our students safe in the event of an emergency.
For drills that could potentially cause trauma, such as lockdown drills, we inform all students and staff in advance that the exercise is only a drill to ease any possible concerns. These drills provide us with useful information in how we design our School Safety Plans and what, if any, changes need to be made in procedure. We have teams that regularly review our procedures to help ensure we are providing the safest school environment we can for our students and staff.
Thank you
