The MHS Challenger Basketball team will play the Ames Challenger team this Friday, Feb. 28, 2025 in the MHS big gym at 3:30pm. Come down and bring a friend to support our amazing athletes! This is also the first ever Challenger Basketball Alumni event. Past athletes will participate in basketball shooting contests. Let's pack the bleachers to cheer on our past and present Chiefs!

Dear Parent/Guardian of Graduating Seniors,
Each graduating senior will receive Five (5) tickets for the commencement exercises.
Due to the size of this year’s graduating class there are only a limited number of extra tickets available. If you need additional tickets (beyond the five (5) automatically distributed), you must forward an e-mail to Mrs. Maureen Tierney (mtierney@msd.k12.ny.us) with your specific request up to a maximum of 3 additional tickets per family before March 28, 2025. You will receive notification shortly after with the status of your request. Please note: Extra tickets cannot be guaranteed but every effort to accommodate such requests will be made.
The tickets will be distributed with the cap and gown in June.

Good Afternoon,
Registration for the 2025 Varsity, JV and JV2 Spring Sports Season opens on February 17th through ArbiterSports https://students.arbitersports.com/organizations/massapequa-public-schools-athletics. This process needs to be completed for your child to be eligible for participation when tryouts begin on March 17th.
Please note, Girls Badminton, Girls Golf and Boys Tennis registration opens on February 24th and tryouts begin on March 24th.

To Parents/Guardians of Students in Grade 5 - 11,
This is a reminder that the ability to view your child's 2025-2026 course requests is now available via the parent portal. To view the list of courses, please click on the "Class Registration" icon located in the navigation menu on the left side of the parent portal screen. Please note, if your child has an IEP, all recommendations will be discussed and courses finalized at your child’s CSE annual review meeting.
Parents of Students in Grade 5: If you have questions regarding a recommended support class, please contact your child’s current 5th grade teacher or Patricia Quinn-Hendry, Comprehensive Literacy Chairperson K-12, at 516-308-5153. Any other schedule questions or concerns can be made directly to the Berner Guidance Department by Friday, February 14, 2025.
Parents of Students in Grade 6: If you have questions regarding regents/accelerated level designations or recommended support classes, please contact your child’s current sixth grade teacher. Any other requests for a course change must be made directly with the Berner Guidance Department by Friday, February 14, 2025.
Parents of Students in Grades 7 - 8: Any questions or concerns should be directed to your child's guidance counselor. Requests for a course change must be made Friday, February 14, 2025.
Parents of Students in Grades 9-11: If you have any questions after reviewing the course requests listed, please contact your child’s guidance counselor as soon as possible.
If you have any questions in reference to the scheduling process, please do not hesitate to contact the guidance office at Berner, MHS - Ames Campus or MHS - Main Campus.

Attention 12th Grade Students & Parents:
Graduating seniors will be required to wear a "Cap and Gown". Orders will be taken, in person, on Wednesday, February 12th and Thursday, February 13th in the Auditorium Lobby during all lunch periods. In addition, seniors will have the opportunity to order Soft Goods, Frames, and Class rings.
