Attention 12th Grade Students & Parents:
Graduating seniors will be required to wear a "Cap and Gown". Orders will be taken, in person, on THURSDAY AND FRIDAY FEBRUARY 26TH AND FEBRUARY 27TH in the Center Lobby Hallway during all lunch periods. To Parents/Guardians of Students in Grade 5-11,
The ability to view your child's 2026-2027 courses via the "Class Registration" icon in the navigation menu on the Parent Portal has been enabled. You may access this on the web portal located at: https://msdps.powerschool.com/public. Please note, if your child has an IEP, all recommendations will be discussed and course selections finalized at your child’s CSE annual review meeting.
Parents of Students in Grade 5:
If you have questions regarding a recommended reading support class, please contact your child’s current 5th grade teacher or Mrs. Patricia Quinn-Hendry, Comprehensive Literacy Chairperson K-12, at 516-308-5153. Any other schedule questions or concerns can be made directly to the Berner Guidance Department by Friday, February 13, 2026.
Parents of Students in Grade 6:
If you have questions regarding recommended support classes, please contact your child’s current sixth grade teacher. Any other requests for a course change must be made directly with the Berner Guidance Department by Friday, February 13, 2026. Important - Please note, acceleration class notifications and schedule updates will be sent home starting on March 25, 2026.
Parents of Students in Grades 7-8:
Any questions or concerns should be directed to your child's guidance counselor. Requests for a course change must be made Friday, February 13, 2026.
Parents of Students in Grades 9-11:
Parents will not see any requests in the parent portal until after their child meets with their counselor. As a result, course requests may not be viewable until February 12, 2026. If you have any questions after reviewing the listed course requests, please contact your child’s guidance counselor as soon as possible.
If you have any questions in reference to the scheduling process, please do not hesitate to contact the guidance office at Berner, MHS - Ames Campus or MHS - Main Campus. For questions about the Parent Portal, please email the PowerSchool Parent Portal support team at powerschool@msd.k12.ny.us.

Dear Students and Families,
Please be aware that Massapequa High School will be conducting a lock down drill today during 7th period (12:11 PM- 12:57 AM). The drill is in coordination with district security, central administration and the local authorities. The drill will only occur during a portion of the period (approx.15 min).
In addition, we will be utilizing the district's Informacast system. With this new alerting system, there will be automated actions with our physical security system and notifications. The notifications will include: Interior/Exterior Blue Strobe Lights, PA System Voice Messages, Email Messages.
You will receive notification when the drill has concluded.

Hello 11th Grade Students and Parents,
Reminder: The Junior Banquet is Friday, April 24, 2026 from 7:00p.m. - 10:00p.m. at The Huntington Hilton in Melville. Coach bus transportation from MHS to the event is included in the ticket price. All students attending must take the provided transportation. Tickets will be sold during all lunch periods starting February 9th through February 13th. Tickets are $120 and checks can be made payable to: Massapequa High School. Please read the attachments for more detailed information, including the code of conduct that is required to be signed and handed in at the time of purchase. Thank you.

Graduation Tickets:
Each graduating senior will receive Five (5) tickets for the commencement exercises.
Due to the large size of this year’s graduating class there are only a limited number of extra tickets available. If you need additional tickets (beyond the five (5) automatically distributed), you must forward an e-mail to Mrs. Maureen Tierney (mtierney@msd.k12.ny.us) with your specific request up to a maximum of 3 additional tickets per family before March 31, 2025. You will receive notification after April 7, 2025 with the status of your request.
Please note: Extra tickets cannot be guaranteed but every effort to accommodate such requests will be made.
The tickets will be distributed with the cap and gown in June
