Dear Massapequa Families,
I am writing to inform you of an incident that occurred this morning at Massapequa High School during the administration of the SAT examination.
An individual in the high school parking lot removed a Civil War reenactment musket from a vehicle. Although it contained no ammunition, it discharged, causing a loud sound. District security personnel responded immediately,
At no time was anyone on campus in danger, and SAT testing and school operations continued without disruption. The matter has been turned over to the Nassau County Police Department for investigation.
The safety and security of our students and staff remain our highest priority, and we appreciate the swift response of our security team and local law enforcement.

Dear Massapequa High School Class of 2026 and Parents/Guardians,
We would like to share an update regarding this year’s graduation regalia.
Beginning this school year, Massapequa High School partnered with Jostens, Inc. as the official provider of all graduation items. As part of this transition, our graduation regalia will proudly reflect Massapequa School District’s colors of navy and athletic gold. We are excited to align this meaningful tradition more closely with our school identity and spirit. The Class of 2026 has expressed their enthusiasm for this change.
If you ordered the Island Photography photo package during summer 2025 that included cap and gown photos, and you would like your images to match the updated regalia, you may contact Island Photography directly to request a digital color adjustment at no cost.

We know this is a busy time of year! As a reminder, all graduating Grade 12 students must return their currently assigned Chromebook and charger before graduation. Chromebook and charger drop-offs can occur during the below dates/times:
June 11-12
Chromebook & charger drop-off in the Center Lobby (West Side) – Periods 4 through 8
June 15-26
Chromebook & charger drop-off in the Computer Lab (Room 217) – During the school day
June 29+
Chromebook & charger drop-off in MHS General Office

Graduation cap, gowns, and tickets will be available for pick up in the Baldwin Auditorium lobby June 4 and June 5. If your last name begins with A-L, you will come during lunch periods on Thursday, June 4. If your last name begins with M-Z, you will come during lunch periods on Friday, June 5.
Wall of Honor Photos next Friday, June 5th at 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Wall of Honor students should report to the Baldwin Auditorium lobby, during their lunch period, to take the photos in the high school lobby, or outside, weather depending.
Senior Field Day & Sunset - Senior Field Day is June 9th at 3:15 PM on the MHS football field, Senior Sunset is June 9th at 6:00 PM on the MHS Baseball Field. (Yearbooks will be distributed at senior sunset)
Senior Chromebook Collection will take place in the Center lobby (west side) on June 11 and June 12. Any seniors wishing to hold on to their chromebooks for end of the year testing may do so and must return to room 217 from June 15 - June 26. (June 29+, Chromebook & charger drop-off is in MHS General Office.)

Senior Sunset:
Join us for Senior Sunset as we celebrate the Class of 2026 with an evening of food, fun, memories, and one last sunset together before the big day! 🌅 Seniors will receive their yearbooks upon arrival and are encouraged to wear their Sunset shirts or MHS attire. Bring a blanket or beach chair and relax with friends on the baseball field. This is a senior-only event and will be held rain or shine! This event starts at 6 and will end with Sunset at 8:23 PM. Bring a pen/sharpie marker to start signing yearbooks. If you can not make this event, yearbooks can be picked up in the General Office starting on June 11th. This survey will close at the end of the day on Tuesday 6/2. All seniors who wish to attend, MUST fill out this form as an RSVP in order to attend this event and have food provided by All American.
