Last week, students at Lockhart participated in Submerge Storytelling, an Arts in Education program brought in by the Lockhart PTA. "The Realm" is a classroom turned into the setting of a story with a main character named Emmy. Students were excited to find out that Emmy needed their help to stop an energy crisis. Students engaged in hands-on interactions with items in the Realm in order to draw conclusions about the story's plot and characters. While participating in the story, students learned to cite evidence, act professionally, learn to problem-solve, and were exposed to various steps in the scientific process as well.
An educationally driven, fun experience was had by all!
