Dear Grade 4 Parents,

In our school district, students receive new Chromebooks in grades K, 5, and 9. For students entering 5th grade, devices are usually distributed at the end of 4th grade.

This year, due to delays in device availability, your child will receive their new Chromebook at the beginning of 5th grade.

We will share more information after the start of the new school year.

Thank you,
The Massapequa School District

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are writing to bring your attention to a dangerous trend that has recently emerged on social media. This trend encourages users to microwave gel-filled toys, such as NeeDoh and similar products. These actions can cause the toys to rupture or explode, potentially resulting in serious burns and injuries.

As a community, it is important that we stay informed about emerging trends that may unknowingly put our children at risk. We believe it is essential to make you aware of this particularly hazardous behavior involving popular toys so that you can discuss it with your child or children, if appropriate. The safety of our students remains our top priority.

As always, we encourage parents and guardians to maintain ongoing conversations with their children about responsible social media use, the importance of sound judgment, and the potential risks and consequences associated with participating in viral challenges.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Sincerely,
The Massapequa School District

Dear Fairfield Parents and Guardians,

We are writing to inform you that there was an ambulance on our school campus to assist with a staff medical situation in the cafeteria. Students were moved to their classrooms for lunch.

The situation was handled with the utmost care and efficiency. We understand that seeing an ambulance at the school can be concerning. We want to emphasize that the safety and health of our students and staff are our top priorities. We are grateful for the response of the emergency services and the cooperation of our school community.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Sincerely,
Dr. Gerhard and Ms. Pavlick

May 12, 2026 Dear Fairfield Families, It is wonderful to see so many students staying active by biking to school! To help keep our school community safe and enjoyable for everyone, we ask that you please take a moment this week to chat with your child about key bike safety protocols. To ensure a safe and efficient environment, adherence to the following protocols is of significant importance. We ask that students follow these directives to maintain order and safety for all: Always wear a properly fitted helmet for every ride. Yield to pedestrians and give walkers plenty of space on the sidewalks. Maintain a slow, controlled pace when on or near school property. Stay alert and aware of your surroundings, especially near car-loading zones. Dismount and walk your bike if the path becomes crowded or congested. We love seeing our students arrive energized and ready to learn. Thank you for helping us keep our walkways safe and friendly for all our Fairfield families! Dear Fairfield Families,

Good morning! I am writing to share some exciting news regarding our activities at Fairfield today.

In honor of Police Week, Fairfield Elementary is proud to host several local law enforcement units throughout the day. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to meet these dedicated professionals, learn about their roles in our community, and express our gratitude for their service.

Please be advised that you will see a significant presence of police vehicles and uniformed officers on school grounds today. There is no cause for concern; they are here exclusively to celebrate with us and engage with our students in a fun, educational environment.

We look forward to a day filled with learning and community spirit!

Have a great day!
