Dear Fairfield Families,

We are writing to inform you that an unfamiliar individual was reported on school grounds during morning arrival. All building safety procedures were followed and security was made aware.

We want to reassure you that there is currently no active safety concern or threat to our school. However, maintaining a secure environment requires ongoing conversation with your children. Please continue to talk with your children about general safety awareness and "stranger danger."

Keeping our students, staff, and school secure will always be our top priority. Thank you for your continued partnership and dedication to keeping our school community safe.

Warmly,
Dr. Gerhard & Ms. Pavlick

Dear Grade 4 Parents/Guardians,

We previously shared that Chromebook distribution would be delayed due to device availability.  We are pleased to inform you that the Chromebooks have arrived and will be distributed before the end of the school year.

All Grade 4 students will exchange their currently assigned Chromebook for a new Chromebook on the date provided by their classroom teacher.

Please note the following:

  • If applicable, please remove any personal protective cases from the Chromebook.

  • Students need to bring their current fully charged Chromebook and charger to school on the date indicated by their classroom teacher.

    • Students will keep their current Chromebook bag.

  • The new Chromebook will have a district-issued protective cover that must remain attached at all times. (This is in addition to their Chromebook bag that must be used when the Chromebook is not in-use.)

  • The new Chromebooks may have limited/no battery charge. Teachers have been informed and will plan accordingly.

Thank you,

Dear Grade 4 Parents,

In our school district, students receive new Chromebooks in grades K, 5, and 9. For students entering 5th grade, devices are usually distributed at the end of 4th grade.

This year, due to delays in device availability, your child will receive their new Chromebook at the beginning of 5th grade.

We will share more information after the start of the new school year.

Thank you,

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are writing to bring your attention to a dangerous trend that has recently emerged on social media. This trend encourages users to microwave gel-filled toys, such as NeeDoh and similar products. These actions can cause the toys to rupture or explode, potentially resulting in serious burns and injuries.

As a community, it is important that we stay informed about emerging trends that may unknowingly put our children at risk. We believe it is essential to make you aware of this particularly hazardous behavior involving popular toys so that you can discuss it with your child or children, if appropriate. The safety of our students remains our top priority.

As always, we encourage parents and guardians to maintain ongoing conversations with their children about responsible social media use, the importance of sound judgment, and the potential risks and consequences associated with participating in viral challenges.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Sincerely,
The Massapequa School District

We are grateful for the response of the emergency services and the cooperation of our school community.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

May 12, 2026 Dear Fairfield Families, It is wonderful to see so many students staying active by biking to school! To help keep our school community safe and enjoyable for everyone, we ask that you please take a moment this week to chat with your child about key bike safety protocols. To ensure a safe and efficient environment, adherence to the following protocols is of significant importance. We ask that students follow these directives to maintain order and safety for all: Always wear a properly fitted helmet for every ride. Yield to pedestrians and give walkers plenty of space on the sidewalks. Maintain a slow, controlled pace when on or near school property. Stay alert and aware of your surroundings, especially near car-loading zones. Dismount and walk your bike if the path becomes crowded or congested. We love seeing our students arrive energized and ready to learn. Thank you for helping us keep our walkways safe and friendly for all our Fairfield families!
