In our school district, students receive new Chromebooks in grades K, 5, and 9. For students entering 5th grade, devices are usually distributed at the end of 4th grade.
This year, due to delays in device availability, your child will receive their new Chromebook at the beginning of 5th grade.
We will share more information after the start of the new school year.
Thank you,
The Massapequa School District

Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are writing to bring your attention to a dangerous trend that has recently emerged on social media. This trend encourages users to microwave gel-filled toys, such as NeeDoh and similar products. These actions can cause the toys to rupture or explode, potentially resulting in serious burns and injuries.
As a community, it is important that we stay informed about emerging trends that may unknowingly put our children at risk. We believe it is essential to make you aware of this particularly hazardous behavior involving popular toys so that you can discuss it with your child or children, if appropriate. The safety of our students remains our top priority.
As always, we encourage parents and guardians to maintain ongoing conversations with their children about responsible social media use, the importance of sound judgment, and the potential risks and consequences associated with participating in viral challenges.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Sincerely,
The Massapequa School District

Dear Parents and Guardians,
UPDATE: Please be advised that all roadways around East Lake School are now accessible and we are slated for a regular dismissal. Please be aware that although we lost power for a short amount of time all classroom activities were able to continue and power has been restored in the building.
Once again, thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Please be aware that Nassau County police and local fire department personnel are active in the area due to downed power lines at the corner of East Lake Ave and Massachusetts Ave. We are happy to report that no injuries occurred.
Please be advised that, as a result, a portion of East Lake Ave between Massachusetts Ave and Connecticut Ave may not be accessible via automobiles for dismissal and/or pick-up. We kindly ask that you use alternate routes and plan accordingly.
Additionally, please be aware that buses will run as usual and regular student dismissal will take place as scheduled. We will have additional security and staff on site during dismissal.
We understand that situations like this can be concerning, and we appreciate your cooperation and flexibility. We kindly ask that you do NOT arrive early to pick up your child. The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Sincerely,
East Lake Elementary School
