Recently, the WaterFront Center in Oyster Bay brought exciting ocean animals for Lockhart first graders to see, touch and learn about. Students learned what bivalve animals were and had the chance to touch a sea urchin. Most students were amazed to learn that a horseshoe crab has 10 eyeballs. They learned the comparison between a spider crab and an Asian short crab. It was a very interesting day at Lockhart for these first graders.
