East Lake Grade 4 Magnet Lighthouse Showcase

The halls of East Lake School were recently lit up with creativity and curiosity as Mrs. Gennardo’s 4th Grade Magnet Class proudly presented their Lighthouse Showcase! This exciting project gave students the opportunity to dive deep into the fascinating world of lighthouses from around the globe.
Each student selected a lighthouse of their choice. The young researchers explored the history, location, and unique features of their chosen lighthouse. They then brought their findings to life through engaging digital presentations using Google Slides or Canva.
But the learning didn’t stop there! After completing their research, students rolled up their sleeves and got creative. Using recycled materials such as cardboard, plastic containers, and paper towel rolls, they constructed impressive replicas of their lighthouses. The results were nothing short of amazing—each model showcasing the students’ hard work, imagination, and attention to detail.
This project was a wonderful way for students to combine research, technology, and hands-on creativity. They really took ownership of their learning and had so much fun doing it!
The Lighthouse Showcase is a shining example of how learning can be both educational and inspiring. Great job, 4th graders!
