March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day. Berner Student Council and Berner Best Buddies Club will be hosting a fundraiser to support ACDS. On Thursday, March 20th and Friday, March 21st, rock candy will be available for purchase for $2.00 per stick during all lunch periods. Raffle tickets will also be sold for $1.00 each or $5.00 for 6 to win a crazy pair of socks to rock! Raffle winners will be announced on Friday afternoon. World Down Syndrome Day serves several crucial purposes, primarily focusing on increasing public awareness about Down syndrome. Furthermore, it acts as a platform to advocate for the fundamental rights, social inclusion, and overall well-being of individuals living with Down syndrome. The day is dedicated to celebrating and recognizing the significant achievements and valuable contributions that people with Down syndrome make to our communities.
