Mrs. Gaynor Bringing Language to Life

Mrs. Gaynor’s students are bringing language to life! To build essential English language skills, her class is exploring everything there is to know about the home. By blending hands-on manipulatives with digital tools, students aren't just memorizing words, they are creating connections. Through this unit, students used Google photos and custom animated characters to share their own homes with peers, practiced writing their home addresses, and even used wooden models to celebrate the family members they live with.  While learning about the parts of a house, the students planted grass seeds to grow in front of their house.  Using drawing, images, videos, and manipulatives Mrs. Gaynor's students are learning the various rooms, furniture, and functions of a house!  She wrapped up the unit by discussing our favorite rooms using drawings and videos. These "home" foundations have now paved the way for our next big adventure: Our Community Neighborhood, where we are building our very own town to learn about local landmarks and community helpers in Massapequa!
