Fairfield's second grade engineers in STEAM are learning about changes to the surface of the earth. They have studied slow changes like erosion and weathering and are now learning about fast changes that occur. After learning the science behind earthquakes, engineers had to follow the Engineering Design Process to collaborate and build a two foot tall building that was "earthquake-proof." It was a lot of fun to see their designs come to life during this challenge!
