Good Afternoon Birch Lane Families, Just a reminder that the New York State English Language Arts and Mathematics Assessment in Grades 3-8 will be administered in April. The Science Assessments for Grade 5 and Grade 8 will be administered in May. If you do not wish your child to participate in the exams, we ask that you complete the 2025 NYS Assessment Participation Refusal Form located on the Parent Portal no later than Tuesday, April 1, 2025 so that we can safely and appropriately plan for all students on those dates. The district is happy to announce that the Massapequa Public Schools Annual Science Discovery Fair is scheduled for Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Berner Middle School. The event is open to all young scientists in grades K-8. This is a great opportunity for our budding scientists to investigate, explore, and report on those natural phenomena that stimulate their young, creative minds.
