MHS- Homecoming 2026

A Massapequa Chiefs touchdown on the opening kickoff was a sign that it was going to be a good day on Oct. 10. It was already homecoming, and a crowd filled with Massapequa pride packed the stands for the matchup against the Oceanside Sailors on a sunny afternoon.

The celebration kicked off with a parade through town, featuring the Board of Education and administration, pep band, cheerleaders, Chiefettes kickline team and class banners, each with a “friendship movie” theme. Before the game, homecoming royalty was announced. Gianna Bianculli and Luciano Cremonese represented the freshmen class, Sabrina Breves, Jack Byrnes, Leah Corey and Travis Gil comprised the sophomore court, Ella Bonagura, Michael Colberg, Casey Gilchrist, Julia Innes and Ella Van Nostrand represented the juniors, and Colin Doherty, Olivia Ganci, Chris Maiorino, Rhyan O’Leary, Giovanni Tarasi and Emma Vience were honored from the Class of 2027.

Homecoming brought together all facets of the Massapequa Experience – academics, the arts and athletics. Students from the broadcasting program documented the day through photos, video and interviews, while members of the American Sign Language program signed the national anthem. The song itself was performed by standout senior vocalist Sophia Rose Alfieri, and the pep band played before and during the game. On the field, the Chiefs cruised to a 33-0 victory while both the cheerleading squad and Chiefettes had rousing halftime shows.
