Retired MHS Art teacher turned children's book author and illustrator, Penny Schneider, recently returned to her alma mater to share her latest work. Penny, known for her book "Arty," captivated the Best Buddies Club at MHS with her engaging storytelling and vibrant illustrations.
"Arty" tells the tale of a unique fish who is more interested in making real friends than conforming to typical fish behavior. The story emphasizes the importance of embracing individuality, building self-confidence, and forming genuine friendships.
Penny's visit took place in the MHS Little Theatre, where she delighted students by reading her book aloud, accompanied by its humorous and visually striking illustrations. The event was a resounding success, filled with laughter and excitement, especially when students got to meet "Arty" and catch an exclusive preview of the upcoming sequel, "Arty Too."
Penny's engaging presentation inspired students, showing them that it's okay to be different and encouraging them to be true to themselves while making friends.
