The mission of Chiefs Challenge Club at MHS is to encourage kindness, respect and civility. Our members are dedicated to showing others that no act of kindness is too small and that everyone can use a helping hand at some point. Our motto is H.O.P.E. ---Helping Other People Everyday.
During the holiday season the Giving Tree is our way of helping families enjoy the holiday without stress. Families are identified by our school guidance/PPS, YES Community Counseling Center and remain anonymous throughout. All the families are from the Massapequa community. Each family is asked for a wish list of things that they need or would like for the holiday. The gift ideas are written on an angel and hung on the tree, located in the front lobby. All students, faculty, staff, administration, and families are encouraged to take an angel, purchase the gift, wrap it and return it to Mrs. Boulukos and/or Ms. Papadatos in the PPS office. YES Community Counseling Center is helpful in getting the items to the families once collected. This wonderful activity is in its 19th year and is a huge success due to the generosity and caring of our Massapequa community.
The Chiefs Challenge club would like to thank all the people who donate gifts and make a difference in the lives of others who are struggling for one reason or another at this time.
