Best Buddies at Unqua Leads Successful Cereal Drive

Cereal Drive

The Best Buddies club at Unqua Elementary School recently hosted a cereal drive. Upon learning that a child's favorite cereal is an item that families rarely get to pick out at food pantries, the student leaders decided to focus specifically on the breakfast cereal.

At their November meeting, Best Buddies members made posters promoting the cereal drive to hang around the school. More than 100 boxes were donated, and will be given to the food pantry at Maria Regina Church.

Best Buddies includes students in fourth and fifth grade, and is advised by Saranna Cerullo and Kimberly Salerno. Later this month, the club will host a Thanksgiving event for kindergartners.
