Berner Students Showcase Their Artwork

The artwork of more than 1,000 students was prominently displayed at Berner Middle School for the annual grades 6-8 art show on June 5. The gymnasium-turned-gallery was bustling with students and their family members for the evening showcase.

During the day, students from the National Junior Art Honor Society and from several art classes helped set up the exhibit, which featured a sampling of drawings, painting and sculptures. Most of the school was represented with at least one piece of work. All students take art in sixth grade and Foundations in Art in seventh grade. Many students also enroll in Applied Art as their eighth grade fine arts elective.

Work was completed under the direction of art teachers Bethany Bracconier, Alison Clemente, Jason Coppola, Heather Cullinan and Antoinette Kearney.
