Monsters in Art at East Lake

East Lake Elementary School kindergartners and fifth graders collaborated on a 2D and 3D art project. After reading “When the Monster Came to Visit,” Caitlyn McCreedy's kindergarten artists made paintings of kindness monsters that represented different art periods.

These paintings were given secretly to Patti Krakoff's fifth graders, who turned the kindness monsters into 3D sculptures out of clay. The kindergarteners were invited to the art room where they met their new buddy to receive their painting along with the sculpture. They took a photo together in front of the green screen to capture the memory.
