Students put their mental and physical mettle to the test during the annual Field Day celebration on June 10 at Lockhart Elementary School.
In the morning, children in grades K-2 were out on the fields for games, relay races and a dance party. Students from grades 3-5 gathered in the all-purpose room to participate in the Brain Challenge, with trivia contests, physical challenges and one of the most intense games ever of Simon Says. The two groups then switched for the second half of the day.
One of the most popular events at Field Day was the dunk tank, in which children had a blast soaking their parents and teachers. But the adults were able to get them back, firing back with their water blasters. On a warm, sunny day, the kids sure didn’t mind getting a little wet themselves.
