Third graders, as part of their study of Earth science, created their own weather center at Fairfield Elementary School with daily visits throughout the spring to record data and observations.
Every afternoon, students in Kimberly Ordon’s class would go outside with their clipboards and observe general weather conditions. One student would also play meteorologist and note the data from the weather station, which included a thermometer, rain gauge and wind vane. Back in the classroom, they discussed the data and reviewed weather patterns.
