Where can you find Walt Disney, Beyonce and Michael Jordan in the same place? At Lockhart Elementary School’s wax museum, of course.
The second grade tradition is a culmination of a biography writing unit. Each student can select a person to research who has made a positive contribution to society. They chose activists, athletes, entertainers, scientists, world leaders and more.
Teacher Debra Cirella said that every student wrote a paper about his or her person that included three interesting facts and one piece of information that others might not know. The wax museum opened on April 29, returning in person after it was held virtually the previous two years. Each second grade class had a half hour in the cafeteria, and their invited guests could walk around and learn about each person.
