With Thanksgiving approaching, kindergartners learned about the Pilgrims at McKenna Elementary School, examining the vast difference between life in the 17th century and present times.
That sparked a discussion in Katherine Mulitz’s class about the modern conveniences of today. Students made comparisons to life in past centuries, such as how the primary means of transportation used to be by horse. They also learned about the evolution of the telephone and the advent of indoor plumbing. The lesson concluded with students making their own “old vs. new” picture books.
