Since they will spend more than a decade together as classmates, kindergartners at Unqua Elementary School got off to a fast start in getting to know one another. With help from fifth graders, the school’s youngest learners completed All About Me projects.
Using Google Slides on Chromebooks, children made posters about their new school environment by including a “selfie” and responding to two prompts – “What I love most about my new classroom…” and “I am excited for this year because…” They received help from the fifth graders, who have used Chromebooks for several years and were more than willing to share their expertise.
For another project, kindergartners made small paper models of themselves, even capturing the clothes they wear. Each student attached an “All About Me” fact sheet that included information such as his or her name, age and interests.
