‘Legally Blonde’ a Hit at Massapequa High School

The Massapequa High School Fine and Performing Arts Department presented its annual musical production, “Legally Blonde,” on March 8 and 9. The show was based on the 2001 theatrical comedy.

Senior Antoinette C. played the lead role of Elle Woods, the bubbly law school student. Other lead roles included Adam K. as Emmett, James K. as Warner, JoJo I. as Callahan, Bridget R. as Paulette and Maria L. as Brooke.

Those familiar with the movie were introduced to “Legally Blonde” as a musical and its songs such as “Oh My God, You Guys,” “So Much Better” and “Bend and Snap.”

The director was Katie Tauches, with support from vocal director Craig Coyle, choreographer Danielle Coutieri, production assistant Nichole Greene, technical and stage crew director Travis McCabe and costume designer Barbara Kirby. Pit director Andy Dwork led the orchestra of music teachers and students. High school art teacher Gale Domingo and her students painted the sets. Junior Talia C. was stage manager and freshman Chris V. was assistant stage manager.
