Learning the Art of Illusion at Unqua

t Young artists at Unqua Elementary School learned how to create three-dimensional work using only two dimensions. For an optical illusion project, fourth graders learned techniques to give the appearance of depth.

Students first studied the work of British artist Bridget Riley, known for her optical illusion masterpieces. Then, under the direction of art teacher Marissa Sondo, they used curved lines and shading to make 3D forms on a 2D surface.
