The Solve-it Bot was the solution for kindergartners at Unqua Elementary School as they designed robots to tackle life’s challenges.

STEAM teacher Amanda Albert visited kindergarten classes for the hands-on activity which combined engineering with problem-solving. Each student had to think of a task they would want a robot to complete. Some of their ideas were robots that could do their homework, feed their pets and clean their rooms.

Every student, whether learning in school or remotely, received a bag of supplies with crinkle paper, pom poms, straws, wooden sticks and other small items to build their robots. Children then presented their creations to the class, with remote students joining via Google Meet. Pictures of all of the robots were also shared with Classkick so students could compare their designs.
