McKenna Students Celebrate Reading

Students at McKenna Elementary recently celebrated their love of reading with Read Across McKenna Week.  The week focused on the importance of reading for both entertainment and knowledge.  Whether it was dressing up as a favorite storybook character, celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday or traveling to a magical place, the students were reminded how important reading is.  In Mrs. Congro’s library classes, students were surprised during the 2nd annual "mystery reader" visits.   Each library class (grades K-5) enjoyed listening to new and classic picture books read to them by a parent.  It was a wonderful experience for both the students and parents.
