Social Media Smarts for McKenna 5th Grade

Recently, McKenna 5th Graders were addressed by their MHS High School peers regarding social media.  The older students presented our 5th graders with some very valuable information; most importantly, if you are having a problem with social media, the best thing to do is to talk to a trusted adult about it.  The older and wiser students suggested it’s safest to keep all social media accounts private and explained to them that public accounts give anyone access to your private information which is only meant for your friends to see.  They also reminded them that private accounts protect your information from strangers. The younger students were extremely engaged and had many questions for the experts. All in all, it was a win/win for all involved. Thank you MSD Student Advisory Board!!!
