McKenna Third Graders Become Paleontologists During STEAM!
The third grade McKenna students became paleontologists this winter by studying fossils and dinosaurs in STEAM! With guidance from the HMH science curriculum, they learned what ancient environments looked like, as well as the kinds of animals that used to roam those parts of the world. As a cumulative project, each student studied a different dinosaur in order to discover their appearance, where they lived, and what their diet was. They created three-dimensional models of their dinosaur's habitat and included many fun and interesting facts about them. At a final showcase, the students were able to view and take notes about each others exciting and inventive research projects. They even had a special visit from Mr. Dino-Mesozoic himself!
