Mix It Up at Lunch Day is an international campaign by Teaching Tolerance encouraging children to expand their social boundaries. The goal is to empower students to be proactive about caring, acting responsibly and being all-embracing when it comes to their peer relations. The Social Work Department facilitated the program during the 4th and 5th grade lunch period on January 28th and will do another later in the year. Students were asked to pick a colored pom pom from a bucket and later sat at the table with the corresponding color. Prompted by conversation question cards and activities the students participated in discussions to learn more about each other.
