Lockhart First Graders Learn about Penguins

The first graders at Lockhart are learning an exciting unit on penguins.  They have adopted an Emperor Penguin Chick from the World Wildlife Foundation. They will gain an impressive vocabulary such as: rookery, tobogganing, brood pouch, krill, molting, crèche, waddle and porpoising.  At the end of the unit, as a culminating activity, the children will enjoy watching “March of the Penguins.”
