Read Across America celebrates Dr. Seuss' birthday

"You're never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child."
To honor Ted Geisel (a/k/a Dr. Seuss) on the anniversary of his birth, March 2, the NEA (National Education Association) sponsors Read Across America.  Your school library is leading East Lake in promoting and participating in this nationwide activity.
Dr. Seuss epitomizes a love of children and learning. His use of rhyme makes his books an effective tool for teaching young children the basic skills they need to be successful. Children of all ages love Dr. Seuss.  When we celebrate Dr. Seuss and reading, we send the message to children that reading is fun and important. All members of the East Lake School Community are asked to read for 15 minutes, any time during the school day on Monday, March 2, 2020. Numerous activities are available at various websites, or just pick up a book and read.
Wear a wacky hat to celebrate!
