East Lake Students are Introduced to the Work of Eric Carle
Students in kindergarten were introduced to the art of Eric Carle by video conferencing the museum during their art classes. Students learned about where his ideas come from and how his creative process works. They saw a video of him creating artwork and they took a closer look at how he creates "dummy" books to plan out his picture books. Some of the students stated “We noticed how line direction changes in his painting of his paper. We saw how pages are planned out in his sketches.” Students are now being authors and illustrators in art by creating an individualized, personalized picture book.” Pictured are students in Mrs. Krakoff's classes.
