French Learners Are Up To Par   French Learners Are Up To Par

Nearly 40 students in French language classes in the Massapequa School District earned recognition for their performance on the National French exam, Le Grand Concours. It was sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French.

Several students from Berner Middle School were medal winners for their high achievement. Earning silver recognition were Rosalie A., Madelyn B., Fiona H. and Sofia V., with Theresa M., Jenna M. and Kaitlyn S. receiving bronze medals. Honorable mention awards went to Kathleen A., Ava B., Ava G., Regan H., Ella H., Joshua H., Catherine O. and Brady S.

At Massapequa High School’s Ames Campus, ninth grader Lindsey B. earned a bronze medal.

From the high school’s main campus, Talia C. and Adriana K. received gold medals. Silver medal recipients were Jack D. and Juliette L., and bronze medal awards went to Sarah B., Kaela B., Ashley D., Olivia H., Alexander L. and Claire R. Honorable mention achievement was earned by Lucas A., Bridgette B., Courtney C., Isabella F., Kayla H., Abigail M., Isabella M., Samantha O., Ava P., Joshua P., Madeline S. and Emma Y.

Students from the three schools participated in the 84th annual National French Contest and were evaluated for their written, oral and listening comprehension skills in French. Teachers with recognized students included Evelyne Le Goupil, Gheisha Rodriguez, Sally Solem and Traci Tucker.
