Seventh graders envisioned themselves as part of the solution to curb alcohol abuse through a technology-based project in their health classes at Berner Middle School.
The students were tasked with creating alcohol awareness billboards that could go at a train station or other prominent location. Health teacher Denise Robertson and technology learning coach Louisa Vecchione worked with students to come up with designs that had powerful images along with simple yet effective slogans.
Ms. Robertson explained that students could pick any anti-alcohol theme. Some focused on the negative health effects while others targeted drinking and driving. Students used Google Slides on their Chromebooks to create their billboards.
