Berner Students Win Language Poster Contest

Berner Middle School hosted its annual poster contest to promote the Massapequa School District’s annual World Language Festival. The event will be held on Wednesday, March 27 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Massapequa High School.

The first-place winner was eighth-grader Gabby P. from Janice Kincaid’s Spanish class. Earning second place was seventh-grader Diana P. from Tracy Tucker's French class and third-place went to seventh-grader Lily S. from Evelyne LeGoupil's French class.

All posters submitted for the contest are displayed throughout the elementary schools to promote the fair, which will highlight the six languages offered by the district — American Sign Language, French, German, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. There will be cultural activities, performances and an International food court.
