Multicultural Club joins the Makerspace Club to raise money for Jambo Jipya School and Reason2Smile
This year, once again, the Multicultural Club has been helping to raise money for the Reason2Smile organization and the Jambo Jipya School in Mwtapa, Kenya. Members of the club joined forces with the Makerspace Club on December 12th at Ames to make bracelets. The bracelets are made from recycled paper beads for family members and friends. It was a great way to make gifts for family and raise money at the same time. It was a great turnout! Members on Reason2Smile go to different schools to teach students how to make the bracelets. We had a representative speak to students at Ames about what they can do to make a difference in their schools and communities. The cost for making two bracelets was five dollars. This was a fun and wonderful opportunity to support the children in Mwtapa. One hundred percent of the proceeds provide educational opportunities for the children in need living at the home in the school. With these donations, the children at the Jambo Jipya children’s home receive food, clothing and healthcare. It is never too late to make a donation.
