Strong Performance by High School Spanish Language Learners

Fifty students from Massapequa High School were recognized for their outstanding performance on the 2019 National Spanish Examination for high school students. The assessment, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, tested knowledge of vocabulary and grammar, as well as communication ability through listening and reading comprehension.

From Massapequa High School’s main campus, gold medal winners were Brendan D., Kiara G. and Alexa M. Silver medal winners were Kyla A., Brendan B., Devin D., Emily F., Katelyn G., Maria G., Carlotta P. and MaryRose R. Bronze medal recipients were Michael B., Ryan B., Erin C., Braeden C., Julia C., Kara C., Jacob H., Pamela M., Julianna R., Katelyn S., Russell T., Lucas T. and Taylor W.

At the Ames Campus, ninth graders Hayley T. and Erin T. earned gold medals. Silver medal recipients were Paige B., Lacey B., Erin F., Krista G., Allison G., Gabriella P. and Jacob W. Bronze medals were earned by Alexa A., Madison B., Jack D., Kristin F., Isabella I., Jillian J., Kyra K., Jonathan L., Ari L., Grace M., Kristen M., Thalia M., Madison M., Anthony P., Gabriella S. and Christopher V.
